Meteorology Department Warns of Strong Winds, High Seas

The Department of Meteorology has warned of strong winds affecting some areas during the day on Tuesday, in addition to strong winds and high seas offshore.

According to its daily weather report, inshore conditions until 6:00 p.m. will be hot to very hot, with slight dust to blowing dust expected in some areas at times.

Offshore, the weather will be partly cloudy at times.

Inshore winds will be northwesterly to northerly at 10-20 knots (KT), with gusts reaching up to 30 KT in some areas during the day. Offshore winds will be westerly to northwesterly at 8-18 KT, with gusts of up to 25 KT at times.

The sea state inshore will range between 1 and 4 feet, rising to 5 feet at times, while offshore seas will range between 2 and 5 feet, rising to 8 feet at times.

Visibility inshore will range between 4 and 9 kilometers, dropping to 3 kilometers or less in some areas at times. Offshore visibility will range between 5 and 10 kilometers.
